Welcome to the first day of our 30 day journey!  As I’ve mentioned before, the 30 Days of Worship will be posted daily at 3pm EST.  I think God wants to do something special in all of our lives through this time.  Wherever you find yourself on your worship journey, there will be something everyday for you.  So enough intro, let’s jump right into it…
   
Worship is NOT music!  Even though this slogan has become quite popular, I’m not sure that we really practice it.  Example:  “The worship was good today” quickly followed by a “I really enjoyed the sermon too.”  At first glance, this doesn’t seem to be an issue, but what they’re probably saying is “I liked the music selection today”  AND “I’m glad the preacher didn’t talk about service or giving.”  I can say these things because I’ve been in church my whole life, and I have substituted the word “worship” for “music” countless times.  Now, you may be thinking “What’s the big deal?”  I’m glad you asked.  Here’s the million-dollar-question is:  What Is Worship? 
   
Got you!  Did you really think that I could explain everything about worshipping God, the Creator and Sustain of all things Who gave the Greatest Gift, despite the Worst Tragedy in History, in order to restore His Children in His inheritance – ALL IN 1 LITTLE BLOG?  That’s why we’re taking 30 days.  Here’s a few things to get us started.  Authentic Worship is NOT…

• Music
• Selfish
• About A Location
• Confined Into 2 Hours On Sundays
• Stagnant, Luke-Warm, Cheap, Easy
• Optional For Christians

However, it IS real, vital, vibrant, and repentant.  “Worship is a way of gladly reflecting back to God the radiance of His worth!” ¹
