1. Full

I’ve heard my whole life that you’re either a half-full or half-empty person. I’ve been thinking about this a little recently and I’ve decided that I’m neither. I want to be a glass-full person. Here’s how I see it:

Even if the glass is only filled half way with water, there’s still something that most people forget - the rest is filled with air. [Don’t leave now, I promise I have a point]. If you have 50% h2o, and 50% o2 you have a 100% full glass.

So this is how it all comes together. We [Christians] are the water, the glass is our lives and the air represents God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. In order for us to live a full life [not by the world’s standards - Wealth], God must fill up the cup with His Presence in our lives. And it’s truly not even close to a 50/50 relationship. Think about it,

    • He created us - CHECK
    • He allows us to relate to Him - CHECK
    • He loves us despite our original rejection of Him - CHECK
    • He provided the Solution for a Problem we created - CHECK
    • He’s going to give us a part of His inheritance - CHECK

NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! Most of what we do is still mess up, treat Him like Santa, rely on Him when we realize how small we are, and stay quiet about what He’s doing in our lives.

So if you’re struggling in a friendship, your marriage, your life, at work, with your kids, whatever is going on: maybe it’s NOT that you and/or others aren’t working hard enough to ‘fill the glass.’ It’s highly possible that you’re not allowing God to fill the rest of the glass.

Seriously think about this, and examine yourself over the Christmas Break. Are you a half-full or half-empty person or are you - full?
