1. Flawless

As worship leaders and as Christians, we hear a lot of about excellence. While it is true that we should strive to be “skillful” and to do the best we can with what God has given us - God does not NEED our excellence. The truth is that we can’t compare to him. So what does God want? Instead of bringing excellence to him as an offering of gratitude, we should be humbled before him, obedient, delighting in Him, filled with the Spirit - CLOSE to Him.

    So here’s a few thoughts:

    Psalm 51:16-17

“Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives, ready for love, don’t for a moment escape God’s notice”

Tozer says it best in Whatever Happened to Worship?

“There is a necessity for true worship among us. If God is who He says He is and if we are the believing people of God we claim to be, we must worship Him. I do not believe that we will ever truly delight in the adoring worship of God if we have never met Him in personal, spiritual experience through the new birth from above, wrought by the Holy Spirit of God Himself!”

Think about these things, and examine yourself to see if you are spiritually excellent.
